Christchurch School sailors traveled to the Severn Sailing Association and Annapolis Yacht Club in Maryland this weekend to race in the 2011 Spring MidAtlantic Scholastic Sailing Association Fleet Racing Championships. The Seahorses came out on top, taking first place. The top four teams – Christchurch School; Severn School, MD; Annapolis High School, MD; and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, NJ. – qualified to race in the National Mallory Team Racing Championship (double-handed) this May in Austin, Texas.

Racing for the Seahorses were Boat A - Blake Burgess (Devonshire, Bermuda) and Matthew Wallin (White Stone); Boat B -  Kyle Burgess (Devonshire, Bermuda) and Archer Ruffin (Charles City).  Other members of the team who traveled to Annapolis are Eric Siegel, Alex Whipple, and Sam Keesee. The team is coached by Jill Petrone, Bill Bonin and Matt Guthrie.

The Christchurch School varsity soccer team has finished the season ranked #2 in the state for VISAA Division II. Coach Schaefer and the team will host the opening quarterfinal match of the State Division II Championship next Monday, November 8 at 3:00 p.m. on Dischinger Field.
