Dave teaches at the Smithsonian, Montgomery College and privately. With a background in biology, his art is a feast for the eyes as well as large scale. He teaches many processes in this class geared to your individual skill level. Color, color, and more color is the focus of his work. This is his third workshop with the gallery. Willie Crockett - (Tangier Island) watercolorist. Rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 8th and 9th at the Gallery, 10-4. Cost $200. He knows water and boat and sky and snow and sweeping vistas because he grew up with them. His gallery in Onancock, Virginia, where he now lives, is alive with his many water scenes and landscapes. He teaches how to loosen up, paint bigger, capture the moment, and realistic color. Three demostrations per day. He will sell reasonably to class members. Teaching tapes available during class. This will be Willie's third workshop at WideRiver. He has a crusty and quick wit, telling jokes and stories as he goes. You will enjoy his easy way and comfortable teaching manner. NOVEMBER
Catherine Hillis, renowned and internationally known watercolorist from Round Hill, Virginia. Saturday and Sunday November 12th and 13th at the Gallery, 10-5. Cost $200. Catherine's show will be up for the month of November so you are in for a treat and will easily see why she is in demand not only as a teacher but especially for her works. A soft lilting light filters thru most of her works and her shadows are something to behold. Realistic subjects are interpreted “lightly”. Supply list available.
